🔹 Project Overview

For three years, I worked on the Generator Control & Maintenance Project with M. Power Engineering. This project focused on the installation, wiring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of generator control systems to ensure reliable backup power for industrial operations.

The scope included automatic and manual generator control, load management, synchronization, and protection systems.


🔹 Objectives

  • Install and maintain generator control circuits and panels.

  • Ensure seamless automatic transfer (ATS) between grid and generator power.

  • Monitor load sharing and synchronization for multi-generator setups.

  • Minimize generator downtime through preventive and corrective maintenance.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational reliability.


🔹 Scope of Work & Responsibilities

1. Generator Control Installation

  • Wiring and commissioning of generator control panels.

  • Integrated Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) systems.

  • Setup for manual and auto modes with control switches.

2. Preventive Maintenance

  • Regular testing of generator starting systems (battery, starter, alternator).

  • Checking fuel, lubrication, and cooling systems.

  • Inspection of control relays, contactors, and meters.

3. Troubleshooting & Repair

  • Diagnosed faults in control circuits and protection systems.

  • Repaired/replaced damaged relays, breakers, and controllers.

  • Solved synchronization and load-sharing issues in multi-gen systems.

4. Safety & Compliance

  • Implemented earthing and overcurrent protection.

  • Ensured compliance with industrial electrical safety standards.

  • Performed emergency support during power failures.

  • Generator control panel testing kits.

  • Multimeter, Clamp meter, Megger.

  • ATS controllers & synchronizing relays.
